Halloween Approaches..."Chakushin Ari"

I love horror movies, and the 2004 film "Chakushin Ari," which translates to "One Missed Call," is one of my top three faves. (An American remake was just awful.) There are two sequels; I've seen "Chakushin Ari 2" and it was very, very scary, almost as good as the original.

Here's the trailer for the original, which includes a few seconds of the ringtone which, when characters hear it on their cell phones in the movie, means they will die. Soon. Horribly.

Here's the eerie ringtone by itself:

Once I hear it, I find it very hard to get it out of my mind, this simple tune also known as "Melody of Death." I don't know if it's so scary if you haven't seen the film...but right now I have goosebumps on my arms.

That is scary. I loved "The Grudge" but never heard of this movie before.

A lot of japanese horror movies are remade with little or no success here. Dont know why...and dont go see them :) But from what I hear they stink once they are remade in the US...
